The students traced a feather and wrote a positive trait about their fellow classmates. Before the turkeys were assembled, we took a moment of silence and each child took that opportunity to read their feathers from their peers. The virtue of Justice was evident in this classroom this holiday season.

Welcome to St. Ignatius Second Grade.

My name is Lisa Ortner. I am a second grade teacher at St. Ignatius Catholic School. I enjoy working with children and helping them reach for their dreams through their education.  At St. Ignatius we work hard to form virtuous citizens!  I believe every child should have the opportunity to see the good, the truth and the beauty in this world. A catholic education should empower a child and help him or her make a positive contribution to their community.

My husband Lawrence and I have a beautiful family of three daughters and one 4-legged child. Gretchen, Kathryn and Shannon and our dog Jack. Kaukauna, WI has been our home town for the past 18 years. I enjoy being outdoors.  I spend my free-time hanging with my family and visiting my parents in my hometown of Marshfield. I also love to read, scrap book and volunteering for my church and community.

I look forward to each school year and preparing the children to receive the Grace of Jesus through the sacraments of Reconciliation and Communion for the very first time.
