Happy Easter from St. Ignatius Catholic School – Alleluia, He is Risen!

April 9, 2023

On this Easter day, we rejoice in the Lord! There are multiple places in the Psalms that say, “rejoice in the Lord always.” It does not say rejoice only when everything is going how we would like, but always. When we focus on God’s blessings, even the crosses He allows us to carry, we can rejoice always.

We beautifully witness, grow, and live this Truth out with your children every day at St. Ignatius Catholic School. Lent has been full of seeds sown at St. Ignatius!

During our regular all-school Stations of the Cross this past Lent, students were deeply engaged in meditating upon the Passion of Our Lord; they seemed to more fully understand God’s love for them, what it cost Him, and opened their hearts to receive His unfathomable mercy and love.

Our students have grown in their devotion to the Sacrament of Confession this Lent. Fr. Raja heard confessions from students for approximately two hours nearly every school day. What a powerful testimony to our students’ understanding of and reliance on His grace, mercy, and love to grow in virtue.

Our upperclassmen completed a pilgrimage to Italy, during which they encountered God and the Church in profound ways, and back home here in the classroom, they distinguished themselves among Chesterton Academy students nationwide by earning top scores on theology and philosophy exams with Franciscan University at Steubenville, through our concurrent enrollment collaboration.

Inspired by Christ’s example, all of our students also served others through service projects during the Lenten season. We rejoice and offer thanksgiving for the many blessings God, in his merciful love, has provided us and with which we can share His love with others too.

We hope your Easter Triduum was filled with the many graces of walking with Christ and the Church through His Passion. May this glorious Easter day fill your hearts, souls, and homes with renewed hope and joy. We rejoice today, and always, because His radical love has won victory over death!

Alleluia, He is risen!
