We will be reading chapters 5, 6, and 7 in our book, “Cricket in Times Square”.   We will start reviewing for our first quiz on this book. We will be working on subject and predicates in sentences.

We will be learning about the parts of plants.  We will also start reviewing for our upcoming test.  I am attaching a study guide for the test.

We will be reviewing the Mid-Atlantic states.  We will also learn a little about the Middle East, especially Israel and Jordan.  We will be learning more about Wisconsin and its regions.

 

MATH

We will be starting multiplication. We will continue working on mental math.  Timed tests will also switch to multiplication facts.

 

 


 

Religion

We will be learning about the sin and Cain and Abel.  We will be going to church on Monday for Adoration. We will also be learning about Saint Matthew, the apostle.

We will be reading chapters 3, 4, and 5 in our book, “Cricket in Times Square”.  We will be working on the four types of sentences in grammar.  We will also be working with a poem.  I have given out the first book report.  It is a simple one that works on the parts of a story.

Our spelling unit is on the soft and hard c, and the soft and hard g.  I do use Spelling City.

We will be reviewing the United States geography from last year starting with the regions.  Our first region is the New England.  We made flashcards for this region. Our first quiz is on Friday.  We will also learn a little about the Middle East, especially Israel and Jordan.  We will be learning where Wisconsin is located in the world and its regions.

 

MATH

We will be reviewing subtraction and starting multiplication. We will continue working on mental math.  Mental math has been difficult for the students because they are used to doing problems the long way.  It is a work in progress.

 

 


 

Religion

We will be learning about the stories of creation and sin.  We will be going to church on Monday for Adoration. We will also be learning about Saint Theresa of the Little Child.
