Language Arts

 

We will be reading chapters 4, 5 and 6 in “Lassie Come-Home.”  We will be reviewing nominative verbs in Grammar. Our next book report is non-fiction books.

Our spelling unit is working with vowel pairs.  We will be working with ie/ei.  This is a difficult unit for the kids.

Science and Geography

 

 

We will be learning more about matter.  Some of this will be an overlap with math.  We will be learning how to measure in metrics.

We will be starting North Africa, especially Libya and Tunisia.  We will be learning about fur traders.

 

MATH

We will be testing on capacity and cups, pints, quarts and gallons. Our next short unit is on graphing.  Keep studying those multiplication facts.

 

 

Religion

We will be going to Adoration on Monday.  We will be learning about St. Leo the Great.  We will also be starting to work on a play on Joseph, Israel’s son.

We are finished with our book, “Cricket in Times Square”.   We will have a test on Monday.  Our next story will be “Lassie Come-Home.”  We will be reviewing verbs and direct objects.  We are all done with our cursive review.  We are going to start doing some of our work in cursive. Our next book report is on a saint and is due on Nov.3.

Our spelling unit is working with vowel pairs.  We will be starting the unit today (10/23) and finishing it when we come back after Halloween.

We will also reviewing for our Middle East test.  We will also learn about early explorers of Wisconsin

We will be learning about capacity, especially liters and milliliters. Keep studying those multiplication facts.

 

 

Religion

We should be going to Adoration on Monday. We will also be learning about St. Simon and Jude.  We will be learning more about Jacob.  I am going to try to get some Protective Behavior lessons in also.

We will be reading chapters 5, 6, and 7 in our book, “Cricket in Times Square”.  Then we will be getting ready for our quiz on Chapters 1-7. We will be reviewing adverbs and learning how to diagram sentences in grammar.  We will also be reviewing cursive g/h and i/j from last year.

Our spelling unit is on /f/ sounds.  Some students will have Challenge words this week and some will have review.  I am on Spelling City, which is an online tool that helps students practice.

We will be finishing up our unit on plants.  We will be starting to review for our test next week.  I will be sending a study guide.

We will be reviewing the Great Lake States.  We will also learn a little about the Middle East, especially Syria and Lebanon.  We will be learning more about the regions of Wisconsin.

 

MATH

We will be reviewing mental math.  Our test will be on either Thursday or Friday.  Our timed tests will be switching to multiplication.  We started doing a little work with that and some are rusty.

 

 

 

Religion

We will be learning about Cain and Abel.  We should be going to Adoration on Monday. We will also be learning about Saint Joseph Cupertino.

Religion

We will be learning about the stories of creation.  We will be using our Bibles.  We will also be learning about Saint Adrian.  I am not sure about Adoration on Mondays.  If we are able to go, we will be there.
